Join a Committee!

Affordable Housing: Promotes policies and involvement conducive to making housing more affordable; represents the HBA on various housing committees and community groups.

Disaster Relief: Coordinates supplies & fundraising for HBA response to local, state and national disasters - as needed.

Education: Plans, organizes, and promotes continuing education for members through monthly seminars and courses. (Committee meets quarterly with Raleigh HBA.)

Land Use Committee: Functions as HBADOC Legislative and Regulatory Issues Committee. Monitors state and local issues which impact the building industry including, inspections, permitting, subdivision, etc.

Membership: Spearheads recruitment and retention efforts.

Builder Appreciation/Tabletop: Plans, promotes, organizes and executes the annual members’ mini trade show. (Event held in February)

Parade of Playhomes: Plans, promotes, and executes the annual Parade of Playhomes, the proceeds of which go to support child abuse prevention agencies in Chatham, Durham, and Orange Counties. (Event held normally in April which is Child Abuse Prevention Month)

Scholarship: Raises funds for the HBA Scholarship program;solicits applicants for the scholarships, and reviews applications to select winners of the annual awards. (Scholarships awarded in April/fundraising in November)

Golf: Plans, promotes, organizes and executes HBA Golf Outings. (Outings are held in May and September)

REALTOR® Appreciation Event: Plans, promotes, organizes and executes the annual mini trade show. (Event held in May)

Parade of Homes: Plans, promotes, organizes and executes the annual Parade of Homes. (Parade is in early October)

Holiday Social: Plans, promotes, organizes and executes HBA Holiday party. (Event held in early December)
