Mission Statement
The HBA of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties promotes the American dream of home ownership through education, advocacy, and professional development.
Build better with us.
History
Charted in 1962, our local Home Builders Association began serving Durham and Orange Counties as a non-profit trade association affiliated with the North Carolina Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. The goal of the association was, as still is, to provide service and representation to and for our members – contractors and associated professionals – in support of the building industry at large and in our area. We expanded in 2005 to incorporate the Chatham Homebuilders, Inc., and became what we are known as today – the HBADOC.
As times have changed, and building peaks and valleys have come and gone, our goal remains the same: to offer resources and education to our members that encourages business confidence and professionalism; to advocate on behalf of the building industry through our partners and lobbyists at NCHBA; to participate in and support quality in our communities through active community service; and to advocate concern for the environment while supporting growth and development.
We are the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties.
